Right in the heart of York, you’ll find Judge’s Lodging—a hotel with charming blend of history and modern luxury.

The entrance

From the moment you walk through the grand entrance, you’re whisked back in time. The historical Georgian architecture sets the vibe, and the staff at check-in were super nice and friendly.

I kinda felt like I was in a Bridgerton set.

Cozy rooms and thoughtful touches

Every room at Judge’s Lodging is uniquely decorated, mixing antique vibes with modern comforts.

My room was located outside the main building, it’s like a villa. The room was perfect with complete amenities. There were nice little touches like free cold milk (plus, a signage for more milk! how cute & thoughtful!), coffee machine, and plenty of tea selections.

Also, guests can read about the history of the building, which dates back to the 12th century. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind stay.

Food!

Breakfast was included in our stay, so we had the chance to dine at their restaurant. It’s a fascinating cellar-like ambiance. Food was outstanding.

We, however, did not have our dinner here. Because we got bored with Western meals and wanted to switch it up to some Asian food. Great thing about this hotel is also its location, so it was easy for us to grab food. We ended up having our Thai food fix at Zaap Thai, which was an easy 10/10.

Perfect spot for exploring York

Reiterating my point above, Judge’s Lodging is located perfectly at the city centre, so exploring York couldn’t be less easy. You’re just a-few-minutes-walk away from York Minster, the Shambles, and Betty’s Tea Room.

It was also an easy walk to get the famous York Ghost in the morning before people start to line up.
