Melbourne is a vibrant dynamic city where almost every corner is picturesque & instagram-worthy. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
Here are some spots that I deeply loved, with exact locations ๐
Around Melbourne CBD
1. Port Melbourne Beach

Took one tram from the CBD and then it’s just a 3-min walk to reach Port Melbourne Beach. I took this photo along the walkway to the beach, right beside the road. You can find the exact spot here.
2. Kerferd Road Pier

Just a short 5-8 minutes walk from the walkway mentioned above and you can find this beautiful long jetty. Find the location here.
3. Southbank

Strolling by the Yarra River was probably one of my favourite things to do in Melbourne. Nearly every spot is perfect, but this is where I took the photo above.
4. University of Melbourne

If you’re looking for some old vintage building aesthetics, then you might enjoy strolling around University of Melbourne complex. South Lawn area was my favourite, as well as their majestic Old Quadrangle. Anyways! This is where I took the photo above.
5. Alleys and Laneways

There’s plenty of hidden alleyways in the CBD with various styles. Some are pristine and simple (like this one above), while others are giving bold aesthetic with graffiti & murals. If you’re a fan of the latter, then Hosier Lane would probably fit to your liking.
6. Luna Park

Here you can find fun and whimsical aesthetic of an amusement park. This photo was taken right at the entrance of Luna Park.
7. Carlton Gardens

Surrounded by lush greeneries, this park is perfect for picnics and lazy strolls. Royal Exhibition Building is located at this park as well, adding a classic touch to the already picture-perfect garden. Here is where I took the photo.
Train Ride from Melbourne CBD
1. Brighton Bathing Box

A train ride from the CBD (and a pretty looong walk along luxurious beach houses [–i’d def choose an uber ๐]) to see these cute, vibrantly coloured little boxes. This location is definitely a popular one.
Car Ride from Melbourne CBD
1. Winery – Yering Station

From Melbourne CBD, drive up to the Northeast region and you’ll find wine-producing area of Yarra Valley. This area is surrounded by stunning wineries, one of them is Yering Station, pictured above.
2. Winery – TarraWarra Estate & TarraWarra Museum of Art

A further drive to the north and you’ll find this beautiful estate. There’s an Art Museum too. TarraWarra Estate location is here.
3. Mount Martha – The Pillars

This one is located on the southeast of Melbourne CBD. Blue turquoise water, sandy rugged cliff– this was a perfect summer spot. Better to come in early in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds. Location is here, please do pay attention to the signs in the area because it can be dangerous.
4. Inverloch

Another beautiful summer roadtrip around Melbourne. Head to the south east a little farther, and you’ll find the town of Inverloch where hidden beaches are located. The first photo was taken at Eagle’s Nest and the one below was taken at Shack Bay.
A wee farther?
Great Ocean Road

Now if you’d like to experience the exotic Australian ruggedness, definitely go for a Great Ocean Road roadtrip. This photo featuring a dreamy cotton-candy sky was taken at Gibson Beach minutes before sunset in late spring. A walk down the long, narrow flight of stairs was a must to access this beach.
