If you’re heading to Le Meridien Maldives Resort & Spa, you’re in for a culinary journey just as stunning as the scenery.
Here’s a complete breakdown of everything we ate during our stay—from sun-soaked breakfasts to beachfront dinners.
Turquoise

Breakfast is served at Turquoise, the resort’s main restaurant. There were plenty of options to choose from, so it was easy to find something different each morning.
A couple of highlights for me were the fresh-cut fruit station and the veggie box, which featured produce grown right in the resort’s own greenhouse. You could really tell the veggies were fresh.
They also had a soup station—one day we tried the miso soup and really enjoyed it.
The restaurant has semi-outdoor seating, so we had breakfast with a nice view of the beach each morning.
It was a calm and easy way to start the day.
Velaa Bar & Grill

Just across from Turquoise, Velaa Bar & Grill is all about comfort food in a bright, relaxed setting. It’s located right next to the pool and has a family-friendly vibe, which makes it a popular spot during the day.
One of the staff recommended us to try the Angus Beef Burger, and it turned out to be a solid choice. It came stacked with eggs, ham, and a bunch of other toppings—a great beachside meal.
Velaa faces the main beach and has plenty of sunbeds nearby, so it tends to get a bit busier after breakfast hours, especially with guests hanging out by the pool.
Tabemasu

We had our very first dinner in the Maldives at Tabemasu, the resort’s dedicated Japanese restaurant. It’s only open for dinner and has a cozy, modern atmosphere.
As soon as we arrived, we were served a complimentary amuse-bouche—oyster karaage and a refreshing mocktail, which was a nice way to start the evening.
To begin, we shared the chirashi bowl, which was definitely a highlight. The slices of fish were thick, fresh, and full of flavor.
For our mains, we tried the unagi don and beef tenderloin—both were really well prepared and tasted great.
We wrapped up the meal with a tropical fruit platter and a chilled yogurt dessert called Hoseki, which was light and refreshing—just the right way to end the meal.
Romantic Sunset Dinner

As part of our honeymoon package, we had the chance to enjoy a private dinner by the beach—definitely one of the most memorable highlights of our stay.
The setup was just a short walk from Velaa Bar & Grill, right by the main beach. It felt really special and secluded, with just the sound of the waves in the background.
We started the evening with a bottle of sparkling rosé and a fresh reef fish ceviche, which was light, flavorful, and a great way to begin.
Our second starter was a salad of Iberico ham and honeydew melon, with a few slices of strawberry. Another fresh and well-balanced dish that we both really enjoyed.
For the main course, we were given two options—Norwegian salmon or beef medallion. We ended up trying both, and honestly, they were equally great. The portions were generous, and everything was cooked just right.
To finish things off, we had a molten chocolate cake for dessert—rich, warm, and a perfect way to end the evening.
Riviera

Riviera focuses on Mediterranean cuisine and offers a slightly more refined, but still oudoorsy vibe compared to the other restaurants at the resort.
It’s located by a quieter beach—not the same one as Velaa—which made the whole setting feel more peaceful and a bit more elegant.
It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a more relaxed, intimate dining experience.
We tried the beef tartare and the buttery shrimp dish called gambas al pil pil, and both were excellent. If you visit, we definitely recommend trying the gambas al pil pil—it was one of our favorites of the trip.

Dining at Le Meridien Maldives Resort & Spa was a big part of what made our stay so enjoyable. Each restaurant had its own vibe and standout dishes—from casual bites by the pool to private beach dinners and elegant Mediterranean plates.
There’s something here for every kind of traveler. We left every meal satisfied and always looking forward to the next one.
If you’re planning a visit, we definitely recommend trying as many spots as you can—there’s a lot to enjoy beyond just the views.
