What to Do in Adelaide, Australia?

| Time to Read :

2โ€“3 minutes

When I mentioned to my friends that I was planning a trip to Adelaide, they were like “What’s there to see?” “Isn’t it super quiet over there?” “You sure???” ๐Ÿฅฒ But honestly, I think it’s a super nice place in which I even contemplated about living there permanently lmao. Anyways! This is a quick trip planner for Adelaide ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

1. Strolling around Adelaide CBD

Rundle Mall in Adelaide, with the iconic Malls Balls

This is probably the cleanest & most organised CBD area I’ve ever seen. Adelaide CBD is surrounded by parks, very pleasing to the eyes ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸŒฒ. You can go window shopping at Rundle Mall, strolling around The University of Adelaide area, chilling at a local cafe, or also visit #2 below:

2. Finding zen at Adelaide Botanical Garden

The whole city is already a definition of zen. But don’t worry, you can still add some more zen by taking a stroll at this h u g e garden– it was such a nice & relaxing activity ๐ŸŒฟ

3. Visit Glenelg Beach

Ferris Wheel at Glenelg

Adelaide has very nice beaches for us to chill and enjoy the ambience. Glenelg Beach is probably the most popular one with lots of restaurants and food stands. It’s also very close to the CBD area & easily accessible with public transit (I took the bus).

4. Take a Walk at Hahndorf

Street at Hahndorf

Such a quaint looking village! I love this place SO much I thought I was being transported to Germany. There’s fresh strawberries at Beerenberg Farm, rustic German village shop, bakeries, and cute local shops to admire while taking your leisure walk.

5. More Beach Visit: Henley Beach

Henley Beach Jetty

Another popular beach in Adelaide! Similar to Glenelg, but it has a different ๐Ÿƒvibe๐Ÿƒ. I’d say Henley Beach is a bit more quiet, with less tourist-y ambience.

6. Sipping Wines at Barossa Valley

Vineyard at Barossa Valley

This is the part where we get to drink ๐Ÿท. I’m definitely not a wine connoisseur, so I totally had no clue about which wineries to go to. In the end, my friends and I resorted to one of the day tour at Backpacker Deals.

In total we visited 5 wineries, took plenty of photos, and did ๐Ÿ‘ not ๐Ÿ‘ have ๐Ÿ‘ to๐Ÿ‘ worry ๐Ÿ‘ about ๐Ÿ‘ driving ๐Ÿ‘ after all that wine tastings ๐Ÿ˜™. I definitely recommend taking this tour / a similar one so that you can enjoy all that wine experience that you can get.

7. Day Trip to Kangaroo Island

Seals chilling by the beach at Kangaroo Island

Absolute must-visit and โœจhighlightโœจ of the trip! If you like seals, kangaroo, the Australian wildlife & ruggedness๐ŸŒŠ– I’m sure you’ll like this! You can see seals literally chilling by the beach and soaking up the sun. They were ๐Ÿฆญmajestic๐Ÿฆญ. If I get a chance to come back to this place, I’d spend a night or two here.

Hope this could be helpful if you’re planning a trip to Adelaide soon and already getting your travel bag out ๐ŸŒž Also here’s a short video on Adelaide that I made on TikTok to give you a glimpse of this beautiful city.
