A few months ago, I finally had the chance to visit my family in Indonesia and attended the most enchanting & beautiful by-the-sea wedding in Bali. It was the first time after 2++ years I last visited Bali, but I only had 3 days to spend in Bali. Yes, I had to schedule it well. I think I did a pretty good job.
Here’s a list of places that I went to in that short Bali trip
1. Kintamani: Cafรฉ Hopping
It feels that Kintamani area has grown really rapidly these past few years. It’s no surprise though, as the view is superb (when it’s not raining hehe) and the cool weather is such a lovely change when Bali southern area gets too hot. As the area grows, there are heaps of cafรฉs along the street, overlooking Mt. Batur. I went to 2 cafรฉs, which located side by side. Montana del Cafe offers brunch menu, coffee, tea, and snacks. Foods and drinks were great, but the highlight for me was the cozy vibe. There’s a wide semi-outdoor area at the lower level, which can be accessed by the stairs near the entrance. The other cafรฉ that I went to was El Lago, which offers Japanese menu. I didn’t have enough time to spend here unfortunately, but managed to take a picture near the entrance ๐

2. Badung & Ubud: Babi Guling
Tbh I’m not a huge fan of pork, but Babi Guling is always a must for me when visiting Bali. I’d say this is my favorite Babi Guling place in Bali. Right after we landed, this is the first place we went to. Around 11am, there wasn’t a huge line of people and it moved pretty quickly. For 90K IDR, we got 2 good portions with soups– a little bit on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it. Another good one was Babi Guling Pande Egi at Ubud offering a slightly different style with crispy pork skin “kriuk” + a beautiful view overlooking paddy field– also worth to try!

3. Seminyak: Gusto Ice Cream
Sometimes the heat can get too much in Bali. Or maybe it’s me (hi, i’m the problem it’s me– yes I’m a swiftie) who has very low tolerance with heat. And when that happens in Bali, Gusto Ice Cream is the perfect solution. Their location is right at Seminyak, so it’s close to a lot of other unique places. With huge indoor and outdoor seating spaces for me to hide from the heat, how could I say no. I mean, they also have LOTS of flavours to choose, so of course that’s another huge reason to visit ๐

4. Ubud: Tegenungan Waterfall
I stayed at Ubud, and found out that there’s lots of waterfalls to be chased. Our driver recommended Tegenungan Waterfall, so we went there! Entrance fee was 20K IDR per person (not sure if there’s any difference between local vs. international visitors). It was a looong way down with heaps of stairs to reach the waterfall. But that’s okay! It felt great once we reached the bottom and greeted with the cool sprays of water. So refreshing & rewarding!

5. Ubud Stay Recommendation: Woy Woy Escape
I did mention that I stayed at Ubud- and it was a really cozy stay so I thought I’d share it too. It’s called Woy Woy Escape. The location is quite secluded and they only have 5 bungalows available. There are 2 types: Sky and Forest, each has its own unique selling points. Sky has a rooftop jacuzzi and a terrace with instagram-style-net-hammock/daybed, while Forest has a private outdoor jacuzzi at the terrace. We stayed at both Sky and Forest suites, and loved both of them! Booking was done via their website and their team assisted us nicely. Price was reasonable and quite affordable, considering main foods (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are included.

Thanks for reading- hope you enjoyed it!
