We had an October autumn roadtrip to Vermont. The fall colors and scenic drives were beautiful. What made it even more special was sharing it with the right people and taking time to enjoy the little moments along the way.
Here are some of the simple things that added heartwarming touches to our Vermont weekend trip:
Cooking Our Own Meals

At our Airbnb, we made simple breakfasts and dinners instead of eating out all the time. We’d head to the local Shaw’s and then made simple dinners like steak and baked salmon.
It’s easy, cost-friendly, and it’s a fun group activity!
Visiting a Local Dairy Store

One of our stops was a dairy store, Mansfield Dairy, near our airbnb. We had a little chat with the owner, a very friendly older lady who asked where we’re from. She keeps track of where each visitor came from on her notebook. Apparently, according to her records, we were the first from our country! ๐
We also had the best chocolate milk there. It’s nice seeing a slice of everyday Vermont life. It kinda made the visit feel authentic in a way.
Enjoying Slow Moments at Our Airbnb

Some of the nicest memories came from just slowing down just inside our Airbnbโ looking out at the orange trees, or simply resting without rushing anywhere.
It reminded us that travel doesnโt always have to be packed with plans.
Visiting an Apple Orchard

Another highlight of fall in Vermont is visiting an apple orchard. Getting back to nature is probably the theme of this trip. It’s nice to inhale the fresh air, walk around surrounded by greeneries, all while holding a warm cup of apple cider.

If youโre planning a Vermont autumn road trip, I highly recommend taking things slow. Sometimes the best parts of travel arenโt the big attractions, but the quiet, everyday experiences that make you feel connected to a place ๐ค
